Taer Temple is one of the six temples of Gelu Sect in Tibetan Buddhism (also named Yellow Sect), which was originated in 1560 with land area of 400,000 square meters. It is regarded to be the birthplace of Zongkaba, the founder of the Gelug Sect. The temple is actually comprised of several temples, halls for scripture, Buddhist pagodas and monks' dormitory, and incorporates both Tibetan and Han architectural styles.
