Trip Highlights - Attraction in Chengde involved: Summer Resort, Temple of Universal Peace, Temple of Potaraka Doctrine. Chengde was the summer camp of the Qing emperors. Here, in a walled enclosure containing numerous palaces, pavilions, and pagodas as well as a vast hunting park, emperors escaped Beijing's blazing summer temperatures, entertained delegations from home and abroad, and practiced the mounted military skills which had originally gained them their empire. With the long history, there are numbers of attractions left. Three of them are on the list of our 2-day Chengde tour.
