Day 01: Arrive in Rongjiang
After your arrival, our dedicated tour guide will take you to the local best hotel. And the rest of the day will be yours to explore the city on your own. Hotel: Local Best.
Day 02: Depart from Rongjiang (B/L)
Today, you will be driven to visit Dong Villages, only a half an hour walk to the east of Rongjiang, where you can experience the unique culture of Dong people. The architecture is completely traditional and the locals continue to speak their mother tongue. You will have the chance to see the Dong chorus performance. Composed of soprano, mezzo, alto and even coloratura voices, the local chorus produces an amazingly strong and haunting sound that echoes throughout the village. Dong Villages
Dong villages have a uniqueness that separates them from those of neighboring nationalities such as the Zhuang, Miao and Yao. A drum tower, with its formation of tiered, multistory roofs, dominates the landscape of a typical Dong village.
Dong chorus performance
Dong chorus performance is traditionally composed of soprano, mezzo, alto and even coloratura. This is an amazing sound, produced by people, not professionally trained but who inherit or are taught their talents by their families.
