Attraction Description
Zhujiajiao Water Town, known as "the Venice of Shanghai", is a well-preserved ancient town in water country in Shanghai typical of southeast China. Located on the banks of Dianshan Lake in the western suburbs of Shanghai, Zhujiajiao covers a total of 138 sq. kms, including an ancient-town area of 2.7 sq. kms. It was found almost 1700 years ago, and became prosperous with cloth and rice businesses; there still remains historical sites like old rice and oil stores, ancient bridges and lots of shops with local hand made items.
