Today, your sincere guide will pick you up at your hotel in Shaoshan and take you to visit the Former Resicence of Mr. Liu Shaoqi, who was the President of China. Then, you will visit the Memorial Hall of Mr. Liu Shaoqi and the Statue of Mr. Liu Shaoqi. Then, you will be driven to Shaoshanchong to visit the Square of Mr. Mao Zedong. Mao Zedong was the first president of the People's Republic of China and made a great contribution to the country. Then, you will visit the Dishuidong Cave and the Former Residence of Chairman Mao. Attraction Description
Former Resicence of Mr. Liu Shaoqi
Former Residence of Liu Shaoqi is a key historical relic protected by the state. With a backdrop of a mountain, it is an ordinary farm hut of 20 rooms built with earth and timber. On the 24th of November in 1898, Liu Shaoqi, the outstanding revolutionary, statesman, and theorist, was born in the house, where he spent his childhood and youth.
Memorial Hall of Mr. Liu Shaoqi
Memorial Hall of Mr. Liu Shaoqi has three levels of steps in the Main hall facing south. There are the foreword hall, audio and video hall, exhibition room and commemorative pavilion. It has four small and big models in the hall. Eight exhibition rooms exhibits articles and pictures reflecting Liu Shaoqi's path growth and his tremendous contribution to the New Democratic Revolution and socialist construction.
Dishuidong Cave
Dishuidong Cave, named by Mao Zedong, is a very popular destination possibly because of Mao Zedong's legendary life and stories. Chairman Mao spent eleven days here during the time he returned to Shaoshan in the early days of the Cultural Revolution Years. Combining the spirit of nature and civilization of man, this scenic spot attracts tourists home and abroad.
Former Residence of Chairman Mao
Former Residence of Chairman Mao is the place where Mao Zedong was born and grew up It has 13 rooms including three bedrooms, a spare guest room, a rice granary, kitchen, adjoining bathroom, stable area, and sheds for cows, tools and wood. In front of the house there is a small pond with lotus flowers where Mao Zedong used to swim when he was a little boy.
