Today, your sincere guide will pick you up at your hotel in Shaoxing and take you to visit The Former Residence of Lu Xun. Lu Xun is one of the famous writers in China's history and made a great contribution to China's literature. Also, you can visit the Three-perceptions Private School and the Baicao Garden, which are the famous place in Lu Xun's life. Then, you will visit the Shen Garden, which has the typical gardens of the east part of China. You can enjoy the scenery and the local houses there. Then, you will visit the Donghu Lake (East Lake), which is located in the east of the city and visited by the first Emperor of China's history, Qinshihuang. Attraction Description
The Former Residence of Lu Xun
The residence, a two-storied wooden structure in traditional style, is found at 208 Lu Xun Road in Shaoxing. He received revolutionary soldiers and young students here from 1910 to 1912 when he returned home to teach in a local school, and it was here that he wrote his first novel. To the east of the residence is the Three Flavor Study (Sanweishuyu), a private school that Lu Xun attended during his childhood.There are more than a hundred rooms as well as a garden. There is also a Memorial Hall dedicated to his history on the same street.
Donghu Lake(East Lake)
The East Lake is situated six kilometers (3.7 miles) to the east of the historic Shaoxing City. With a wonderful combination of a hill, grottoes, stone bridges, it might pass for a miniature landscape. It is great fun to sit in a boat - called an aquatic taxi in this area, and to glide silently along the cliffs and grottoes. The crescent lake is hemmed in by a hill formed of bluestone, a kind of material widely used in building houses, bridges and roads. Stoneworkers had quarried stones from this hill since the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220AD). In later times the hill hollowed out, leaving only steep cliffs and a deep pool.
