Trip Highlights - Attractions involved: The highlights around Shigatse include the famous Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of the Six Big Monasteries of Gelug Sect in Tibet., is located at the foot of Drolmari, founded by the first Dalai Lama in 1447. Another highlight in Shigatse is New Palace of Panchen, built in 1954 by the Panchen Lama. Shigatse is a 500 years old city with elevation of 3,830 meters. Day 01: Arrive in Shigatse (L/D)
This morning, after your arrival in Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet, you will first visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of the six largest in Tibet. Next, you will visit the New Palace of Panchen, built in 1447 by the Panchen Lama. Afterwards, you will be driven back to your hotel. Hotel: Shigatse Hotel 3 star (or similar class)
Day 02: Depart from Shigatse (B)
After breakfast you will leave Shigatse for your next destination. (Service End)
