Trip Highlights - Attractions involved: Baoding City is a medium-sized industrial city in Hebei province near the coast. It is about 150 kilometers from Beijing and east of the Taihang Mountains. Baoding City is an ancient city with a long history, and there are lots of places of historical interest and natural scenic areas. For example, the Ancient Lotus Lake Garden in the city center used to be an institution of higher education during the reign of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty. Tour Itinerary: (Lunch)
This morning, you will be picked up at your hotel from Tianjin and driven to Baoding. You will visit the most famous attractions there. The Zhili Governor's Office Building is a best preserved ancient government building in China and also has relics of the Military Academy in the Qing Dynasty. After lunch, you will next be driven to the Western Imperial Tombs of the Qing Dynasty east of Baoding. They are magnificent and offer visitors a glimpse into imperial funerary and sacrificial rights, and funerary architecture of the Qing Dynasty. Finally, you will be driven back to Tianjin.

Attraction Description
Western Imperial Tombs of the Qing Dynasty
Located 140kilometers (87 miles) southwest of Beijing, in the town of Yixian in Hebei Province, are the Western Imperial Tombs of the Qing Dynasty. The first tomb was constructed by Emperor Yongzheng, who chose to be buried away from his predecessors. The Western Imperial Tombs include the tombs of five emperors, their empresses, concubines, princes and princesses, and other royal servants. The tombs are magnificent and offer visitors a glimpse into imperial funerary and sacrificial rights of the Qing Dynasty.
Zhili Governor's Office Building
Covering an area of 30,000 square meters and facing south, the whole complex was strictly built according to the architectural rules of Qing Dynasty, divided by north and south paths, which were usually used for sounding the night watches, and three north-south paths, called eastern, central and western lines. Zhili Governor's Office was important in history as it held a strategic location for the capital city and its environs. During its 187 years operation, 74 governors served 99 terms here.
