Day 01: Arrive in Zhangye
Today, our sincere tour guide and skilled driver will pick up you at the airport or train station. And then you will be driven to your hotel to have a rest and get ready for the next day. The rest of the day will be yours to rest and explore the city on your own.

Day 02: Depart from Zhangye (B/L)
This morning, the guide will meet you at your hotel and then take you to visit the Giant Buddha Temple, which is the largest architectural relic in Gansu Province of the Western Xia (1038-1227) period. After lunch, you will be driven to the next destination, the Wooden Pagoda Temple, which is regarded as one of Zhangye City's 'Five Elements' Pagodas (Metal, wood, water, fire and earth are the 'five elements' in ancient Chinese philosophy and fortune-telling). After the tour, you will be sent back to Wuwei. (Service End)
Attraction Description
Giant Buddha Temple
The Giant Buddha Temple is the largest architectural relic in Gansu Province of the Western Xia (1038-1227) period, located in the southwest corner of Zhangye in Gansu Province. China's largest reclining Buddha is well preserved in this temple. The Giant Buddha Temple was built in 1098 to house the Buddha. In its 900 years the temple was restored many times during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Wooden Pagoda Temple
The present Wooden Pagoda is located in the south street of Zhangye County Government, regarded as one of Zhangye City's 'Five Elements' Pagodas. (Metal, wood, water, fire and earth are the 'five elements' in ancient Chinese philosophy and fortune-telling).The Wooden Pagoda Temple was built in early 557-588 A.D. of the Northern Zhou Dynasty. Records show that the pagoda had been renovated several times from 581A.D. to 1911 A.D..
