Beijing Jockey Club (BJC) locates in the Tongzhou District of Beijing, covering an area of 1.6 square kilometres. It was one of the biggest international standard horse-racing clubs in Asia. The club has bred over 2,000 thoroughbred horses, and three racetracks with international standard in the club. The club has ever embarked on thorougbred racing as a major business, however, the racecourse was shut down in 2005, because Chinese government not to allow gambling on horseracing.
Beijing Hong Kong Jockey Clubhouse is located in the prestigious Wangfujing area, within walking distance of the Forbidden City, the Tiananmen Square, the National Grand Theater and the National Museum of China, shopping precincts, major tourist area and key government and business offices. The Beijing HK Clubhouse occupies a land space of 16,000 square meters and a built up area of 38,000 square meters, with 3 stories above ground level and 2 stories of basement.
