D.R. Congo Embassies and Consulates

The Democratic Republic of the Congo, known as Zaire in the period of 1971-1997, is a country located in Central Africa, with a small length of Atlantic coastline. It is the third largest country in Africa. As a result of its equatorial location, the Congo experiences large amounts of precipitation and has the highest frequency of thunderstorms in the world. The trade between China and the D.R. Congo began right after the two countries established diplomatic relations. In November 1988, China and D.R. Congo signed a new trade agreement with the provisions of bilateral trade in foreign exchange payments, and grant of each other's MFN status.
