Travel to Guilin, maybe you can understand what traditional China is. Guilin, with the total area of 4,195 square kilometers and 1.2 million people, is located in the northeastern part of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on the west bank of Li River. The city has been the political, economic and cultural center of Guangxi since the Northern Song Dynasty. Moreover, in Qin Dynasty, the city is regarded as a powerbase for the first emperor of China and served in the 1930s as a communist stronghold against the Japanese. Besides the long and vibrant history, Guilin, known as "Forest of Cassia Trees", is also full of abundant scenery, which attracts large numbers of visitors from both home and abroad to come and travel here.

The "blue mountains, green water, astonishing caves, and beautiful stone" make the city so famous that large amount of foreigners travel to Guilin every year. There are many ways to get to Guilin. Air, train and bus services are available from most part of China and abroad. The most convenient to travel around for visitors is to follow a guide and make some travel operators arrange that for you. In theory, the best time to travel Guilin is from August to October, when the weather conditions are most favorable. Especially during the so-called slack season (October to December), many interesting activities are held there. Traveling during this time to taste the profound local customs is a pretty good idea.

Guilin is famous for the green mountains and crystal clear water, which make the city to be a vivid Chinese painting. Yangshuo scenery, Li River, Elephant Trunk Hill, Reed Flute Cave and Longsheng Terraced Field are the sites that you can't miss in the city. Also, you can enjoy the abundant minorities in the city. Each minority has its own designed customs, festivals and culture and hospitality to the guests who travel here. I would like to get an advise on planning a travel to Guilin for 7 days. Is it a good idea to take this time traveling around or should we stick to local sightseeing? How long does it take to travel from Guilin to Longsheng and to Yangshuo? Thanks.

7 days is too long to travel in Guilin city area, though it has so many places of interest to see. Is better to travel around this area to explore more. From Guilin to Yangshuo, you can take a cruise, and stay there for a night. Guilin to Longsheng is about 3 hours by bus. We have put everything in order and offer you a travel package in Guilin.
