Djibouti Embassies and Consulates

The Republic of Djibouti lies in Northeast Africa on the Gulf of Aden at the southern entrance to the Red Sea. Around the country are volcanic rocks of different ages. Djibouti has scarce agricultural soils and low vegetation coverage. Oasis and forests take only 5% of the total area. The economy of Djibouti is based on service activities connected with the country's strategic location and status as a free trade zone in northeast Africa. China established the diplomatic relations with Djibouti in 1979. Since then the relations of friendly cooperation is developing continuously and steady. The two countries have signed a cooperative agreement on economy.
