Egypt Embassies and Consulates

Egypt is a transcontinental country mainly in North Africa with the Sinai Peninsula forming a land bridge in Southwest Asia. It has a population of about 79.5 million, which is the largest in the Arab countries of the world. With a coastline of almost 2900km, Egypt is actually a country of desert which takes up 95% of the total area. China and Egypt established diplomatic relations on May 30, 1956. And the relationship between the two countries has been developing very smoothly. Since then many leaders from the two counties have paid state visit to each other in different period of time. In April 1999, Egypt signed a joint communiqué with China on establishing strategic cooperative relationship.
