Libya Embassies and Consulates

Libya stretches along the northeast coast of Africa. Much of the country lies within the Sahara. Along the Mediterranean coast and farther inland is arable plateau land. The World Bank defines Libya, whose economy depends primarily upon revenues from the oil sector, as an "Upper Middle Income Economy", along with only seven other African countries. China and Libya established diplomatic relations in 1978. Since then, the cooperation of the two countries in various fields has developed continuously. They support each other in international affairs and share a common understanding on Human Rights and other major questions. Libya sticks to One China policy on the question of Taiwan.
