Moldova , officially the Republic of Moldova, a landlocked country in Eastern Europe, located between Romania to the west and Ukraine to the north, east and south. The country is a parliamentary democracy with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government. Located geographically at the crossroads of Latin, Slavic and other cultures, Moldova has enriched its own culture adopting and maintaining some of the traditions of its neighbors and of other influence sources.It has a total area of 33,846 km² with a population of about 3.6 milion (January 2009). The capital city is Chisinau . The country developed diplomatic relation with China on December 27, 1991. The national day is Augest 27th.
