China and New Zealand established the diplomatic relations on 22, December, 1972. Since then, the bilateral relations between the two countries developed smoothly with frequent exchanges of visits and contacts between the leaders and high-ranking officials of the two nations. The sound diplomatic environment made the trade and economic relations developed smoothly and steadily, as well as a continuous development of bilateral cultural exchanges. New Zealand, located in the southwest of the southern hemisphere, is made up of the South Island, the North Island, and some islets. With many volcanos and hot springs, New Zealand is attracting more and more Chinese to visit there.
