Niger Embassies and Consulates

Niger is a country located in West Africa's Sahara region. Two-thirds of Niger is desert with much of the northeastern part of the country being uninhabitable. The remaining third of the country is savannah, suitable mainly for raising livestock and limited agriculture. The Niger River flows along the southwest border, the country's only fertile area. China and Niger established diplomatic relations in 1974. In 1992, the Niger resumed the "diplomatic relations" with Taiwan, which led China suspended the diplomatic ties with Niger. In 1996, Niger reestablished the diplomatic relations with China. Since then the bilateral relations between the two counties have enjoyed smooth development. The Chinese government has completed many aid-projects in Niger.
