Tajikistan Embassies and Consulates

Republic of Tajikistan is a mountainous landlocked country in Central Asia, bounded by China in the east. Ninety-three percent of Tajikistan's territory is mountainous, and the mountain glaciers are the source of its rivers. Tajikistan is an earthquake-prone area. Most of Tajikistan's population belongs to the Tajik ethnic group, who share culture and history with Afghanistan and speak the Persian language. Trade in commodities such as cotton and aluminum wire has contributed greatly to its steady economic improvement. China officially established diplomatic relations with Tajikistan in 1992.
