Tanzania Embassies and Consulates

  • Tanzania

The United Republic of Tanzania is a nation in central East Africa. Tanzania contains many large and ecologically significant wildlife parks, including the famous Gombe National Park in the west which is known as the site of Dr. Jane Goodall's studies of chimpanzee behavior. China established diplomatic relations with Tanganyika and Zanzibar in 1961 and 1963 respectively. When Tanganyika and Zanzibar were united and became Tanzania in 1964, it is natural for China to extend its diplomatic ties with Tanzania. Tanzania is China's largest aid recipient country in Africa. Since 1964, China has provided various kinds of assistance to Tanzania. At present, there are eight Sino-Tanzanian joint ventures established in Tanzania.
