Venezuela, officially titled Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is a tropical country on the northern coast of South America. It is a continental mainland with numerous islands located off its coastline in the Caribbean Sea. The republic won its independence from Spain in 1821. The petroleum sector dominates Venezuela mixed economy, around 80% of exports and more than half of government revenues. Venezuela contains some of the largest oil and natural gas reserves in the world. It consistently ranks among the top ten crude oil producers in the world. China and Venezuela established diplomatic relations on in 1974.
