Itinerary (B: Breakfast; L: Lunch; D: Dinner)
Day 01: Arrive in Beijing
When you arrive in Beijing, your guide will greet you and take you to your hotel where you will have time to relax and settle down.
Day 02: Beijing (B/L/D)
Today's tour will first bring you to Tiananmen Square and then to the Forbidden City, the largest and most intact group of ancient structures in the Imperial Palace. After a few hours at the Forbidden City, you will eat lunch and then head to the Summer Palace, the resort of Empress Dowager Ci Xi. For dinner, you will eat Beijing's famous Peking duck and then head back to your hotel.
Day 03: Beijing (B/L/D)
Today's trip will be the amazing Great Wall of China, the only man-made structure on Earth that can be observed from the moon. In the afternoon you will visit the Ming Tombs, the burial site for 13 of the Ming emperors. At night you will watch an acrobatic show and then return to your hotel.
Day 04: Beijing / Xian (B/L/D)
Today you will fly to Xian, the ancient capital city of China. When you first arrive in Xian you will visit the ancient City Wall followed by the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Tonight's dinner will consist of an imperial dumpling banquet followed by a show of dancing and music from the Tang Dynasty.
Day 05: Xian (B/L/D)
After eating breakfast, you will visit the Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses, widely regarded as the eighth wonder of the world and then visit the Tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang.
Day 06: Xian / Chongqing (B/L/D)
Before your flight to Chongqing you will have some free time around the city. After boarding your flight and landing in Chongqing, you will be met at the airport. In the evening you will enjoy a welcome dinner and then head to the cruise for the night.
Day 07: On the Yangtze River Cruise (B/L/D)
In the morning you will leave from Chongqing and board the boat to visit the Three Gorges. The cruise will first stop at the Ghost City of Fengdu. After returning to the boat, you will be invited to the Captain's Welcome Party. There will be a buffet dinner followed by a music and dance show.
Day 08: On the Yangtze River Cruise (B/L/D)
Today, you will visit all three gorges: the Qutang Gorge, the Wu Gorge and the Xiling Gorge. Afterwards, you will journey to the Shennong Stream, where you will ride a "pea boat" up the small gorges against the rapids. In the early evening, you will be brought back to your main cruise ship to enjoy the remainder of the day.
Day 09: Yichang / Shanghai (B/L/D)
After viewing the Three Gorges Dam Site, your tour of the Yangtze River will come to an end in Yichang. Next you will be driven to the airport where your guide will meet you on board and see you off for the flight to Shanghai. After landing in Shanghai, you will be met by another guide and brought to your hotel for the evening.
Day 10: Shanghai (B/L/D)
Today you will take a tour of China's largest city, which is also China's principal port located on the Yangtze River Delta. You'll visit the Bund, Nanjing Road, Yu Garden, and the well-known Temple of City Patron.
Day 11: Depart from Shanghai (B)
Today will be free for you to explore this city on your own. Later in the day you will be brought to the airport to leave China and return home.
