Itinerary (B: Breakfast, L: Lunch, D: Dinner)
Day 01: Arrive in Lhasa
You will arrive at the Gonggar Airport and be greeted by your tour guide. Then you will drive to Lhasa and have a rest at your hotel in the afternoon.
Day 02: Lhasa (B/L/D)
Today you will visit Norbulingka Park and the Sera Monastery. Afterwards you will then visit the Potala Palace, constructed in 637 by Songtsen Gampo, the first king of united Tibet. Later you will visit a Tibetan family and then be taken back to your hotel for the remainder of the evening.
Day 03: Lhasa (B/L/D)
Today you will visit the Jokhang Temple and the bazaar at Barkhor Street. Afterwards you will be taken to the Carpet Factory and The Tibetan Traditional Medicine Hospital. Finally you will see Drepung Monastery, constructed in 1416. The second through fourth Dalai Lamas once lived here. Afterwards you will be driven back to your hotel for the remainder of the evening.
Day 04: Lhasa / Yamdrok Yumtso Lake / Gyantse (B/L/D)
In the morning you will leave Lhasa and drive to Yamdrok Yumtso Lake. Then you will drive over two of the highest passes in Tibet, Kambala Pass at 4,794m and Karola Pass at 5,010m above sea level. When you arrive at Gyangtse, you will visit Palkor Monastery and Kumbum Stupa. In the evening you will be brought back to a local hotel for the rest of the evening.
Day 05: Gyantse / Shigatse (B/L/D)
Today you will drive to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. Upon arrival, you will visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, built in 1447 by the Panchen Lama. In the evening you will be brought to a local hotel to rest.
Day 06: Shigatse / Shegar (B/L/D)
In the morning you will drive to Shegar, also called the new Tringri and cross over the highest pass on the way to Shegar, Gyatsola Pass, at 5,220m above sea level. Upon arrival at Shegar, you will stay in a local hotel for the remainder of the evening.
Day 07: Shegar / Mt. Everest Base Camp (B/L/D)
You will leave in the morning for the Everest Base Camp. It takes around four hours to arrive at the camp due to the bad road conditions. When you arrive at the camp you will be able to step out of your cars and walk around. That evening you will spend the night at a simple, local guesthouse.
Day 08: Rongbuk Monastery / Shigatse (B/L/D)
In the morning you will have time to look at Rongbuk monastery before your drive back to Shigatse. Upon return to Shigatse you will be taken to your hotel where you can rest for the remainder of the evening.
Day 09: Shigatse / Lhasa (B)
Today you will drive back to Lhasa and be taken to your hotel upon arrival.
Day 10: Depart from Lhasa (B)
In the morning, you will be taken to the airport and fly back to your destination.
