Changsha Travel Guide

-Travel to Changsha

Changsha is a city of history and culture, as well as being one of China's premier travel destinations. Changsha is the capital of Hunan Province, and also a city that enjoys rapid industrialization alongside cultural and historical relics. In ancient times, Changsha was a base for both Chu and Xiang; it is also home to many historical figures, including Qu Yuan, Jia Yi, Zhu Xi, Zeng Guofan, Mao Zedong, and Liu Shaoqi. While traveling in Changsha, one can enjoy Five Sacred Mountains of Daoism and the beautiful scenery at the World Heritage Site, Wu Ling Yuan. However, the most famous and interesting historical site is perhaps the Mawangdui tomb collection, which dates back to the Western Han Dynasty.

The city itself most often associated with Mao receives few foreign travelers. Situated between mountain ranges, with the Xiangjiang River nearby, Changsha enjoys a relatively mild climate. Additionally, the city is rich in agricultural and mineral resources, including coal, iron, copper, porcelain clay, manganese and tungsten etc. Changsha's ideal location-surrounded by the beautiful Yuelu, Dawei, and Weishan Mountain as well as the Xiangjiang and Liuyang River, and the Juzizhou scenic spot, all make Changsha a great travel spot to relax and enjoy the best China has to offer.

With its steep slopes, wealth, advanced economy and transportation, Changsha was home to many celebrities and scholars throughout the course of history, contributing greatly to Chinese culture and art. While traveling in Chongqing, you will have the opportunity to taste the unique local dishes-Xiang Cuisine, which is one of the Eight Cuisines in China and has a fine and delicate appearance and a hot&sour taste and the heavy and hot taste is an equal competitor to the spicy food of Sichuan. Various hotels, rest houses and leisure places will also provide you with comfort and pleasure during your travels in this wondrous city.
