Best Time for China Travel

You should base any decision about the best time to visit China on which regions you wish to visit. Because of the stretch of its territories and sites and activities it can offer, China can be visited through out the year. Ideal Seasons to visit China
Autumn and spring are usually considered the best times to come to China. In these seasons, there is a limited amount of rain and temperatures are reasonable throughout China.
Best months to visit China
The months of April, May, September and October are ideal months for travel anywhere in the country. June through August is a good time to visit central and northern China. The months of March and April are the lower-priced shoulder season; while the lowest price, off-season travel, is from November through the winter months.

Holidays
Chinese New Years holiday will normally last for two weeks. It's quite difficult to travel during these periods of time; most flights, trains, busses and accommodation are full. The first week of May and October are not recommended travel periods. During these periods there are national Chinese holidays. It's difficult to even get a reservation confirmed during these periods and due to the crowds the travel experience is a lot less enjoyable.

High and Low Seasons
There are indeed high and low seasons. May, September and October are the peak tourist months at China's most popular destinations, but prices are higher, and everywhere is more crowded. Prices drop a bit in the shoulder season, which runs from late March through April and from June through August. The low season arrives in late November, and continues through the winter when there are fewer crowds and the prices are lower.
