Travel to Mingjiao Temple, you can learn a lot about an ancient king Cao Cao. Mingjiao Temple is located on the ancient Jiaonu Terrace (the platform for Cao Cao), built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). It has 1500 years of history and was restored many times. It is in the south of Xiaoyaojin Park in Hefei city, Anhui Province and attracts visitors to come every year. The palace is divided into the main hall and the later palace. There are more than 30 images of Buddha. The Grand Treasure palace has upturned eave corner with the wind-bell clang. There is a giant tin bottle gourd erected on the palace
roof where the silver lights sparkle straight to the sky. The bell and drums sound together when the wind blows. The constructions of Mingjiao Temple consist of the Mountain Gate, the Son of Heaven Palace, the Grand Treasure Palace, the Dizang Palace, the reception room, the Liao room and so on. The site is also alleged as the platform that Caocao, famously devious warlord and later King of the Wei Kingdom, was to drill his troops before the battles against Sun Quan's Wu Kingdom army.
Caocao is known for many feats, but nowadays he is most famous as a major character in the book "The Three Kingdoms". Cao Cao was also an accomplished poet. Although few of his works remain today, his verses, unpretentious yet profound, contributed to reshaping the poetry style of his time. He and his sons Cao Pi and Cao Zhi are collectively known as the "Three Cao" in poetry.
