-Travel to Guangxi Museum

First built in 1934 in Guilin but later moved to Nanning in 1954 and renovated in 1978, the Museum of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region covers a construction area of 15,000 square meters, of which 7,000 square meters is for exhibition. Guangxi Museum has a rich collection of precious cultural relics which outnumbers 50,000 pieces. Among them, more than 150 pieces are of the first grade, including hand axes of 830,000 years ago, big stone spades of the Neolithic age, animal mask pattern Bronze You-vessel (jar, round in horizontal section, with cover and swing handle) of the Shang dynasty, Bronze Wine vessels with snake and frog patterns of the Spring and Autumn Period, big bronze horses of the Han dynasty, and bronze lamps in the shape of phoenix, etc.

Guangxi Museum has two basic displays, namely, the Display of Guangxi Historical Relics, and the Display of Guangxi Revolutionary Relics. The Display of Guangxi Historical Relics exhibits heritage from 50,000 years ago, such as the Liujiang Man's cobra bone, to the Opium War in 1840; while the Display of Guangxi Revolutionary Relics exhibits relics and documents of every revolutionary period in the early 1920s. Guangxi Museum also has three displays on special topics, namely, the Display of Guangxi Folklore, the Display of Guangxi Ancient Bronze Drums and the Display of Relics about the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Uprising (1850-1864).
Guangxi Museum has also held some temporary exhibitions such as the Exhibition of New Excavations and Ancient Corpses in Guangxi, the Exhibition of Cultural Relics Donated by Li Jishen, and the Exhibition of Relics Left by Qing (1644-1911) Emperors and Empresses, etc.
