Dalian Travel Guide

Dalian does deserve its title as the "Romantic Capital" and "Northern Pearl of China", which has been one of the most popular China travel destinations. Dalian is situated on the tip of Liaodong Peninsula in the northeastern part of China, facing the sea on three sides. Dalian is comprised of a series of bays and islands. There are as many as 705 islands of different sizes, covering a total area of 30,000 hectares. The flourishing coastal city of Dalian is the third largest port in China and one of the most prosperous cities. Declared a Coastal Open City in 1984, it is home to major shipyards, oil refineries, diesel engineering plants, and factories for textile and chemical products.

Over the last 20 years, Dalian's emphasis on its environment has highlighted the travel industry of the city. The city's buildings are most particularly attractive with a colonial legacy of Russian, European and Japanese architecture. Abounding with lush gardens, architectures, beaches and summer resorts, the city is as close to paradise as you are going to get. Amongst the travel attractions in Dalian, the most popular are Bangchui Island, Tiger Beach, Fujia Village and Baiyu Mountain.
