Xixi National Wetland Park is the only national wetland park in China, located at the west part of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, a total of 1,150 hectares (2,800 acres). It is divided into the eastern wetland protected cultivation areas, the central wetland eco-tourism and leisure areas and the western wetland ecological landscape sealed conservation areas. Together with the Xihu (Chinese pronunciation of West Lake) and Xiling, Xixi wetland is one of the Tree "Xis" of Hangzhou. As an oasis in the urban area, it is honored as the first national wetland park in China, Chinese wetland museum and national base of environment protection and popular science.
It includes many thousands of ponds, networks of streams and rivers, extensive reedbeds and ecological areas and provides rich examples of aspects of urban wetland, as well as agricultural and cultural wetland environments. Many unique cultural aspects add to Xixi’s fascination including the persimmon and plum festivals, the dragon boats, the silk industry, boat born martial arts and the prestige of being the birthplace of the famous ShaoXin opera. In this way Xixi National Wetland Park clearly represents a unique and unrivalled recreation and education experience.

Scenic spots here include Angling Club, Yanshui Fishing Villa, Bo Temple, Xixi Water Pavilion, Plum-bamboo Villa, Deep Pool Mouth, Xixi Plum Villa, Xixi Straw Pavilion, Autumn Snow Temple, Xixi Silk and Silkworms Stories, Xixi Family, Xialongtan Ecological Conservation Area and Wetland Plants View Area.
During summer, Xixi National Wetlands Park holds celebrations for the Dragon Boat Festival, with dragon boat competitions at Deep Pond, which legend says is so deep that a dragon dwells there. Visitors can join in the fun and cheer the men on as they expertly race their ornamentally designed and decorated boats to the finishing line.
Xixi National Wetland Park is an important Hangzhou tourist attractions.
