Jiuzhaigou National Park Guide

-Travel to Jiuzhaigou National Park

Jiuzhaigou Natinal Park is full of picturesque scenery of green lakes, waterfalls, snow-capped mountains, forests and wild animal and plant reserves. The city was admitted by UNESO into the World Natural Heritages in 1992, the World Biosphere Reserve in 1997, and is also certified as sustainable by Green Globe 21. The name of the city originated from nine Tibetan villages scattered throughout the valley. Jiuzhaigou covers a total area of 280 square miles, endowed with snow-capped mountains, layered waterfalls, pristine lakes, and lush forests, with elevation ranging from 6,000 to 16,000 feet. The city is one of the few places where you can see the giant panda in its natural habitat and the golden monkey.

Jiuzhaigou Natinal Park is all about seeing. The colours of its lakes, trees and mountains are breathtaking and defy adequate description. The altitude changes within the valley to create continual variations of flora, which give each lake and waterfall a unique quality. Jiuzhaigou has several Tibetan settlements. Scattered throughout the region are Tibetan prayer wheels and scripture banners, Jiuzhaigou offers alpine sceneries reminiscient of Banff-Jasper National Park in Canada. But the scenes seem to be more compacted. Jiuzhaigou offered a welcome relief from smog-filled Chengu. The smog over Chengdu was clearly visible coming back from Jiuzhaigou.
