Dragon Spruce Plateau Guide

The Spruce Plateau, also known as the ' Splendid Vale', is a famous travel site. It is a large meadow located in the midst of a primeval forest. Set at an altitude of over 3,000 meters, the plateau is near the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and surrounded by many spruce trees. The Naxi people believe that the plateau is an entrance to heaven where people can enjoy each other's presence. Lovers used to come here to die when their love ran out and the plateau is known as a place of tragedy for romantic lovers.The plateau is regarded by the Naxi people

Beside the White Water River, there is a ropeway to take you up to the Spruce Plank Road (in Chinese, the name of the road pronounces Yunshan

Zhandao). To reach the plateau, you should walk on the ropeway through a forest, where you can see tall spruces. Besides taking the ropeway, you can also reach the plateau by foot.
