-Travel to Zhongwei

Zhongwei lies in the west-central Ningxia Province, only a few hours by bus to the southeast of Yinchuan near the Yellow River. It's bordered by Gansu Province in the west and Inner Mongolia in the north. Thirty thousand years ago, human settlers had lived there. Before the Qin Dynasty established shire to administrate this area, it was inhabited by ancient ethnic minorities, including Qiang and Rong. By the Ming Dynasty, the Name of Zhongwei had been in use. As a transportation junction in the whole northwest region, it’s convenient to travel to Zhongwei either by flights or railway.

Mountains and loess hills constitute the most part of the city's territory. The Yellow River flows through the northwest part of the city, which makes it a beautiful oasis in the West. The running through of the Yellow River not only creates favorable conditions for Zhongwei to make the wonder of producing delicious Zhongwei Rice, but also makes the city well-known as a special travel destination. Some special local products are the must buy gifts when people travel in Zhongwei, such as Chinese wolfberry, seabuckthorn, scented pear, Jinsi date, and so on.

Zhongwei is located deeply in the inland China close to desert and so far away from the sea, hence, the weather features late spring, short summer and long winter.
