Chongqing Climate

Chongqing arguably has one of the most unpleasant climates in the country, situated in the subtropical zone and fostering an intensive and moist atmosphere. Its climate features: unstable temperature in the early morning of spring; very hot and drought in summer; cool and rainy in autumn; warm and foggy with little snow in winter. When spring and summer meet, it often rains at night, thus the city is famous for its "night rain in the Ba mountains". However, most days are foggy in winter and spring. The annual average foggy days are 100-150. Hence, Chongqing is also called "foggy city". Besides, Chongqing is also known

as one of the "three hottest cities" in China, the other two being Wuhan and Nanjing. Because Chongqing is surrounded by mountains, it's difficult to see the sun. With misty weather and drizzle, Chongqing's girls are the most beautiful in China. Spring and winter are the best seasons to visit here and the rainy autumnal season is best avoided. Bring light clothing such as T-shirts, shorts and sandals if you come in summer. Also, remember to take your umbrella, sunglasses, and suntan lotion to avoid the heat of the "burning furnace".
