Sanya Climate

Sanya is located at the same latitude as Hawaii. The typical tropical climate with annual average temperature being 25.5 ºC, sugar-white beach and fresh air have granted it the title of "Oriental Hawaii". Sanya is famed for its clear, fresh air and abundant sunshine. Sanya's rainfall is lower then the other area of Hainan Island and 1/3 of the yearly rainfall comes with the typhoon, at the same time the concentrative rainfall makes Sanya weather a feature of 300 shinning days a year. Flowers are in full bloom throughout the year. Winter is very pleasant with no frost nor snow. From October to April of the following year is the most comfortable time in Sanya

with continuous arrivals of visitors. Especially during Chinese Festival in January or February, a large many of travelers pour into this city all the way form northern China, to escape the coldness and enjoy the sunshine. This results in the price rising of both the hotels and flights. So if you plan to go to Sanya, please avoid this peak. About clothing, a short-sleeved shirt and skirt or pants is enough at the day. However, be prepared to wear more in the morning and the night, which will be slightly colder. The solar radiation of Sanya at any time is quite damaging, so make sure to take sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat with you. Mosquito repellant is also advisable.
