Guiyang Climate

Guiyang is situated on the eastern side of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau Southwest China. Guiyang has a temperate and humid subtropical monsoon climate, with fairly mild winters and warm summers. The seasons are not particulary distinct with the average temperature at 15C(59F) without intense heat in summer and severe cold in winter. The hottest day occours in late July and the coldest in the early January. Peaple in Guiyang are proud of the pleasant climate and often compare it to Kunming as 'Another Spring City'. It

is also one of China's least sunny cities and one of the most livable cities in China. Generally speaking, although it's good to travel in Guiyang the whole year round, the best season to visit Guiyang is late August. However, due to its changeful weather on the plateau, visitors are strongly recommended to take rain coats along with yourselves when you are outdoors. An umberalla is indispensable. Mornings and evenings could often be rather cool and chilly so a wind-proof coat is necessary.
