Hetian Climate

Hetian, located at the northwest of China, is a city located 1,500 KM to the south of Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Uigur Autonomous Region. The city is sandwiched between the Taklamakan Desert in the north and the Kunlun Range in the south and is famous for the original place of jade in China. The city enjoys a temperate arid desert continental climate with four distinctive seasons and droughty weather and less rain. Hetian also suffers the strong wind and sand there for thousands years' history, which makes it as one of the

worst cities that suffers the wind and sand attack in Xinjiang. The annual temperatue in the city is around 15 degrees celsius without the severe winters and hot summers. The city also has around 3,000 hours sunshine time with 150 mm rainfall and dry climate annually. March and April is the spring time of the city, where will full of flowers and green scenery. The summer in Hetian will enjoys the high temperature in the day time, but low temperature in the evening. Guests need to get ready for the large temperature difference when they travel in Hetian.
