Zhaoxing Climate

Driving southeast of Kaili, the road climbs into the hills before finally descending into a subtropical basin. 72 km south of the county town of Liping, the village is seated in the plains surrounded by green mountains. The Zhaoxing River flows through the village. In the very south of this region is Zhaoxing, a lively, traditional Dong Minority village with a remarkable total of five drum towers. Zhaoxing enjoys a subtropical humid climate with

four distinctive seasons. The annual temperature is 15ºC, with an upper limit of 26ºC at the height of summer, and a coldest point of 3ºC in the winter. It has abundant rainfall and longer frost-free period. The houses are typical pile dwelling with roofs of black tiles. Many of the town's inhabitants continue to wear traditional clothing and speak only their native Dong language. Wearing shirts and jeans are suitable. For the warm winter, you only need to take a coat with you. The best time to visit Zhaoxing is from April to November.
