Most foreigners come to know Sichuan because of the worldwide news in May 2008 when a huge earthquake struck the province. However, in some way, it is attracting people come to travel and to share its fragile beauty. Sichuan Province is located in southwest China, bordering a Tibet, Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, Chongqing, Guizhou and Yunnan Provinces. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is in the western part, and the Yangtze river goes through the south east region of the Province. Sichuan is used to be known as the "Land of Abundance", with an area of 187,000 miles and the largest population in China.of 87 million people. Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, is the cultural and industrial center for the agricultural Chengdu Plain.

This province is famous for its amazing collection of wildlife and diverse terrain. Jiuzhaiguo is home to some of China's most naturally beautiful and breath-taking scenery. Emeishan is great combination of wild scenery and Buddha Culture. Besides, you will find China's favorite baby, the panda lives in the Panda Reserve. With the completion of modern transport facilities and links, Sichuan is now a relatively straightforward province to travel from throughout China. Along with the visit to some important historic relics and famous scenic spots in Sichuan, to taste the delicious spicy Sichuan Cuisine is a must when you travel there. Sichuan food is known for being "spicy" hot! Characterized by spicy and pungent flavors, Sichuan Cuisine, with a myriad of tastes, emphasizes the use of chili, red hot peppers and garlic. Typical menu items are: Hot Pot, Smoked Duck, Kung Pao Chicken, Twice Cooked Pork and Mapo Dofu. As one of the largest provinces, Sichuan has more than 15 minority ethnic groups living along with the Han people. Each of the minorities has its own festivals: the Leshan Giant Buddha International Tourist Festival, Southland Ice and Snow Festival, Liangshan Yi Ethnic Minority Torch Festival and Zigong Lantern Festival.
