When someone has a visit to Xi’an shall never miss the famous Muslim Street, where the varieties of local flavor snacks will surely dazzle one’s eyes. As long as one can think of, he or she can find the mouthwatering food in the cuisine paradise. Muslim Street is located at the heart of ancient city of Xian, next to the Drum Tower. It is the hub of the Muslim community in Xian City, with a length of about 550 meters from south to north.

Xi’an Muslim Street is called Huimin Jie in Chinese. The district houses the architectures in the style of Ming and Qing dynasties, with the Drum Tower in the south and memorial archway in the north, and embracing many ancient courtyards as well as some 10 mosques in diverse sizes that built in different time, around where inhabited bout 20,000 Muslims retaining their pristine religious tradition and life style. The Muslim Street is famous as a "snack street" because rich delicious local Xi'an delicacies and typical Shaanxi snacks are concentrated here, which attract visitors home and abroad. This featured bluestone-paved old street is also the favorite haunt for locals because of the most tasty food and leisure atmosphere. 

The best time to visit Xi’an Muslim street is in the evening. If facing North and looking at the Bell Tower (center of the street) the street to take to the Muslim Street is at 9 O’clock positiondue west, then taking a quick right and under a small bridge, (which is actually a drum tower, though not nearly as noticeable as the bell tower). You will know you are there with the smell of roasting lamb, and signs written in green arabic writing
