Gyangtse Climate

Gyantse lies in a small basin between the middle of the Everest and the middle of the Kangdese-Nyainqentanglha ranges. The southern and northern terrains are high with the South Tibet Plateau and the Yarlung Zangbo River constituting the low-lying middle area. Gyantse is basically of varied topography with an average elevation of more than 4,000 meters varying from high mountains and wide valleys to lakes and basins. Summer in Gyantse is usually moderate and humid, and through the whole year most of the rainfalls

happen in summer. Winter is cold, dry and windy. The best season to visit Gyantse is summer and early autumn when the climate is friendly and the weather is great. It's strongly suggested to take sunblocks with you while visiting Gyantse. Since the temperature defferentces between days and nights are wide, visitors had better take jackets and warm clothes. In winter, it'll be too cold to visit in Gyantse.
