Xiamen Climate

Xiamen, as one of the beautiful coastal city in southeast China Fujian province, faces Taiwan Strait, borders the cities Quanzhou to the north and Zhangzhou to the south. The city enjoys a sub-tropical oceanic monsoon climate with the comfortable annual temperature 21 degrees celsius and annual rainfall 1,100 mm. It is a city full of green and vitality all year round. The spring in Xiamen is very short with cold, dry weather and thick fog from the sea. The temperature of Xiamen in summer is around 37 degrees celsius.

Usually, it is also regarded as the rainy season in Xiamen, which come with the hurricane from the sea. It is the special time in Xiamen and guests need to take care of them. All the boats and ships are prohibited to set sail on the sea in August, since the huge hurricane ofter happens during this period. Autumn is the best time to visit Xiamen, since its cozy climate and fresh sea food there. Winter is the comparatively cold season in Xianmen, where the temperature can drop below 20 degrees celsius and come with the strong wind from the sea.
