Going to Inner Mongolia can be an exciting travel experience, just to imagine enjoying the mazing grassland scenery and pastoral life. The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is also called Inner Mongolia for short, situated on China's northern frontier. It is distinct from Outer Mongolia, which was a term used by the Republic of China and previous governments to refer to what is now the independent state of Mongolia plus the Republic of Tuva in Russia. The Mongol People were a nomadic tribe in ancient China. Genghis Khan is the one who entered it to a united country, and an empire including much of China. There are still museums to commemorate this great hero.

No travel guide will save its praise for the natural of Inner Mongolia, which is the most attractive part: vast grasslands, mushroom-like yurts, bright sky, fresh air, rolling grass and the flocks and herds moving like white clouds on the remote grassland, all contribute to make the scenery a very relaxing one. Inner Mongolia is an area of multiple ethnic groups with Mongolians, Hans and other ethnic minority groups. Mongolians like singing and dancing. Inner Mongolia integrates folk culture and ethical characteristics into local travel, and gradually forms a series of activities, such as horse racing festival, Qahar dairy food festival, and barbecue festival etc.

Inner Mongolian has efficient transportation. The capital city Hohhot as well as another big city Baotou, act as the hub in the central part of the autonomous region. Upgraded airline, railway, highway and the city transportation expedite your travel. Be sure to try local dishes when you travel there. Inner Mongolian specialty cuisine, consists of dairy-related products and hand-held lamb. Roast lamb, Instant-boiled mutton, finger mutton and milk tea are the famous food in this area. The area is well known for the sharp temperature distinctions that separate the day from the night. Generally the best time to travel is between July and September, although from June until March temperatures can sometimes be a little too stifling.

My wife and I are working as English teachers in Beijing. We need help with an upcoming travel to Inner Mongolia. We can make arrangements independently or would appreciate recommendations for a travel agency to arrange guide, grassland travel, yurt stay, etc. Thanks for any guidance.

Thanks for asking. It’s a good time for you. The best time to visit the Kubuqi Desert is in summer and autumn. In addition, during the May and October the temperature here is comparatively higher, always around 25 C to 40 C in the daytime. While in the night, the temperature will drop around 10 C to 15 C according to the weather.
