Folded Brocade Hill, also known as Wind Cave Hill and Cassia Hill, is situated in the northern part of Guilin City. The Folded Brocade Hill is comprised of a few different hills and peaks which are on the west bank of Li River. The hill is named for the odd looking rocks that are broken horizontally. The hills together look like a lot of folded colored silk piled together hence the name Folded Brocade Hill. Folded Brocade Hill comprises Yueshan Hill, Crane Peak, Four Direction Hill and Bright Moon Peak, which covers an area of 100,800 square kilometers. A calabash shaped Wind Cave, takes its name from

the breeze that runs through it all year around, runs through the halfway point of the hill. The two mouths of the cave are only wide enough for one person to walk through. Inside the cave, there are lots of inscriptions from those famous writers or poets in the past and some Buddism cliffside images, of which there are 19 groups approximately 90 sculptures of the Buddha. Along the narrow stone path up, you will then find the Face-the-Cloud Pavilion and Over-the-River Pavilion, which provide ideal rest stops for the arduous and exhausting journey up to the top of the Bright Moon Peak. The Bright Moon Peak,

an attractive site and notable for its unique pavilions, eminent stones and cliff carvings and Buddhist sculptures, is the summit of the hill, which is only 223 meters tall and comparatively easy to climb. The Catch-the-Cloud Pavilion stands on the peak. Standing on the pavilion, visitors can get a finest view of Guilin.
